- Auditing & Performance Monitoring
- Plan and Conduct Internal Audits. Develop and maintain a rigorous audit schedule across all apprenticeship provision areas to ensure they are always “audit-ready”
- Review Apprentice Evidence Packs. Systematically audit learner files to verify that evidence (off-the-job training) meets ESFA funding rules.
- Assess Learning Progress. Monitor individual apprentice engagement, attendance, and progress against targets to prevent disengagement or disengagement-related funding loss.
- Compliance & Funding Management
- Provide specialist advice to internal departments on complex ESFA funding rules and Ofsted requirements.
- Oversee the accuracy of the Individualised Learner Record (ILR), ensuring all data input matches the agreed training plans and employer contracts.
- Gateway & EPA Coordination, Collate and verify “Gateway” evidence before learners proceed to End Point Assessment (EPA) and ensure timely registration with external EPA organisations.
- Risk Mitigation & Reporting
- Report Findings: Produce detailed audit reports for senior leadership, identifying financial risks and proposing corrective action plans.
- Liaise with Regulators: Support the preparation for and execution of external audits from the ESFA or DfE (Department for Education)
