Stuarts story – from Assessor to Work Based Learning Operations Manager

Aug 2025 Stuart – Thriving in the Work Based Learning sector – 10 years after I placed him in to his first assessor role

Back in 2016 I helped Stuart secure his first role in the world of Work Based Learning – here are a few words Stuart shared nearly 10 years ago.

I would like to recommend Tina Lacey recruitment, as the go to recruiter for those in the training / work based learning sectors. Her professionalism in her dealings with me and my new employer went far beyond my expectations. Her skill in this area allowed me to be matched with an excellent employer, couple this with amazing advise and guidance through the interview process, and withing an 8 week period I am looking forward to starting an exciting new career. Thank you Tina

In August this year (2025) – just as I was about to celebrate my Milestone 10 year anniversary I received a lovely message from Stuart with a thumbs up to share with you here !!

You might think this message is a little out of the blue, but during my annual appraisal last week one of my actions was to finally dust off my LinkedIn profile (it’s been years!). That got me reminiscing about how I first stepped into the world of work-based learning, and then I spotted one of your posts.

You may remember you helped me land my very first assessor role almost 10 years ago (fellow Rep 😊). Fast forward to now, and I’m still in the sector—these days at Gower College—and absolutely loving it! It’s a brilliant place to work, with a great team, and I also get to oversee our English contract, which has been a fantastic way to broaden my experience.

I hope all’s well with you, and—10 years on—thank you again for the support you gave me back then. It really did help set me on a path I’m still thoroughly enjoying. 😀

Best wishes,
Stuart
